The role
We are seeking applications for a Technical Officer to provide weekend cover within the Aquaculture division of Moredun Scientific (a commercial subsidiary of the Moredun Foundation, a registered charity). You will join a team of people involved in the conduct of Aquaculture studies testing vaccines, therapeutics and other fish health products for use in farmed fish.
The post will be based at an aquaculture research facility in East Lothian.
You will be responsible for fish husbandry and supporting the operation of the aquarium. The post will be providing cover at the weekends. This is a fixed term appointment for 12 months.

Experience required
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have;
A biological degree or recognised Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Biological Sciences or a related discipline.
Good interpersonal and communications skills and effective organizational abilities.
In addition, ideally you will have:
A good understanding of research quality management systems (eg VICH-GCP, GLP)
Experience of working with fish or other aquatic animals in a research environment.
A Home Office licence training qualification
Experience of working in a laboratory environment
A clean driving licence
